Calim VI: Bold maneuvers

This is part one of my new mini-series: The Battle of Calim VI. A recreation of a battle that occurred a few months back within the course of a crossover RPG thread I participated in over at the XWA Upgrade Forums ([link]).

Having picked up the fleeing Combat Yacht the ESS Destroyer Seraphim is confronted with a new problem: The Imperial task force that was chasing the Yacht is now onto them. Even with ESS reinforcements entering at the edge of the system, getting past the imperial blockade is a matter of some concern....

"Some rescue mission!" Sheal barked over the blarring of sirens. "Status report!"
"Several hull breaches in our aft section." Kane reported grimly. "Nothing serious, except -"
"Except what?"
"Cloaking system's power is offline. I'll try to redirect but that'll take a few minutes!"
"Then get to it." Mryna ordered. "Can we fold yet?"
"The fold drive is still recharging." Monk reported grimly. "Make that fifteen more minutes."
"We don't have that much time!" Azrael commented. "What about the hyperdrive?" But Monk shook his head.
"Not with that Interdictor around."
"The Revan will take care of it, hopefully." Sheal said. "We just have to survive here and not get boarded."
"Pardon me but they haven't seen all of us just yet." Mryna snarled. "Bring us head-on towards that star destroyer and prepare the trinity cannon!" Moving to the next intercom she called hangar control. "This is Qhalic. Load with what explosives we have into that yacht and then evacuate the hangar!"
Cutting the connection she nodded towards Azrael. "Lock the trinity cannon on that Star destroyer's bridge. Once fired, go to full throttle and bring us above them. Our bow and lower section can take the pounding for a while."
It took a moment for the ship to fully turn around. By now the Star Destroyer was merely two kilometers away its cannons firing constantly.
"Target acquired!" Azrael announced. "Firing Trinity gun in 3 ... 2 ... 1..."
A hard ripple ran through the Seraphim as the tripple-barreled mass driver cannon unloaded its devastating charge in three silvery streaks. Thousands of metal particles pierced through the destroyers shields and impacted onto the bridge tower like a meteor shower, bursting and shredding hull platings. Within seconds countless breaches vented atmosphere and flames and had to be shut down.
