Traquia: Sword of the Stars by Vince-T Traquia: Sword of the Stars by Vince-T
The Traquia model is nearing completion, meaning that I now can safely make pics revealing more of it than only a dark gloomy shape with thousands of lights. SO here's a quick one, showing the Traquia plus a small group of Inferno IIs and a Phoenix Cruiser. Nothing spectacular, very much for the looks. :)

All ships shown are custom designs by myself.

Awesome job! Would it be alright if I borrow the design for this ship for a fanfic story I have in mind?

Battle Cruiser of my Dreams, THAT'S IT!!
A ship that could seriously challenge Darth Vader's Super Star-Destroyer,
The "EXECUTOR"
The title is "Sword of The Stars", May I suggest, an alternate title...
The Starship DURANDAL
"Durandal" was a Legendary Sword said to belong to an ancient French Warrior, named 'Roland'.
This sword actually exists and is believed to be the real-life inspiration for the mythical 'Sword in the stone' in Arthurian Legend.  While Arthur's sword was named Excalibur, Roland's sword was Durandal.  When he was mortally wounded on the field of battle, Legend says the Roland feared his "Unique and Magical Sword" would fall into the wrong hands, so he flung it with great strength after asking God to grant him the ability for one last act to protect this sword from being used for evil.  Roland flung the sword with such might that it fell back to the ground with such force that it became embedded in solid Granite rock.  The real sword does exist, and it encased in what is believed to be natural rock.  The sword has been studied and can not be removed from this resting place and the composition of the sword in unknown to Molecular Science.
This ship you have created would be befitting of such an honorable namesake as "DURANDAL".  Maybe the Durandal class with another name of the actual ship would work too.  ??
Thank you for sharing this incredible design.

Well, the short answer is "no". First of all, the ship's actual name is "Traquia", while sword of the stars is merely a subtitle for the image. Now without going into too much detail, Traquia is the name of one of the story's main characters' city of birth, which was one of the last to hold fast against an enemy invasion force. The flagship receiving its name is an hommage to that city and its valiant defense. Since the whole story is pretty much isolated from our contemporary history and mythology, I chose not to utilize to any existing mythological names.

It's a design of my own.
I'll be releasing it as an add-on Craft for X-Wing Alliance soon.

considering the quality of other ships in the game whose graphics you use to create this model, i ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!

the detail, the design, everything, from the slightly complex command island at the top of the ship, to the side profile of the ship around the 2 visible hanger bays, and the tiers of the decks, its just great

*hands you a bottle of awesomesauce*

Congradulations comrade

The limitations that XWA raises are the challenge that makes the whole thing the most fun :)
